Volunteer Volunteering does not only benefit us, bit benefits you by helping with mental health and wellbeing and so a sense of community. Alll our roles offer flexibility and full training. If you have children in the group we offer a discount the child’s subscription while you volunteer with us as a thank you. Non uniformed roles Treasurer The Treasurer role is one of the most important roles. This role is responsible for the financial status if the group. Working with Section leaders to ensure that subscriptions have been paid, ensuring that things like volunteer expenses are paid in a timely manner. Estimated Volunteering time 1 to 2 hours a week. Executive Chair Person The Chair will oversee the executive committee that provides governance to the scout group. This role is a very important role in shaping the direction of the group. Estimated volunteering time: 1 hour per week on average. However we can tailor the responsibility to suit the individual. Group Administrator This role is a very important role in supporting the group and the effective running of meetings and ensuring that data is up to date. Ensuring that team members have all of there training up to date and in compliance with national guidance. Estimated volunteering time: 1 hour per week on average. However we can tailor the responsibility to suit the individual. Growth Champion 1st Newent has expanded at rocket speed since 2019. We have exciting plans to DOUBLE the number of young people within our group by 2023. The role of Growth Champion will work with the Group Scout Leader to plan events and messaging that helps grow 1st Newent. Using tools like Facebook, Twitter, website, Print media to get the message out and in focus. Estimated volunteering time: 1 hour per week on average.
