The King’s Arms Christmas Fayre Fundraiser November 19, 2023 (updated November 25, 2023) | By Tim Big shout out to Wayne and Chrissie and the entire crew at the King’s Arms in Newent. Holding a Christmas fayre fundraiser for the 1st Newent Scout group’s new event shelter. We had an absolute blast meeting so many new and familiar faces. Quick count we made £160 on the Scout stand and the raffle will be going on until Tuesday 19th December when a grand total fundraising will be announced. Thank you to everyone who was there on the day, and especially to those who helped fill the table with amazing cakes and crafts to sell, without you none of this would have been possible. So if you haven’t bought a raffle ticket yet either pop into the King’s Arms and ask at the bar or Parents can purchase a raffle ticket at the Scout HQ when dropping off or picking up for a scouting session.
Remembrance Parade 2023 November 16, 2023 | By Tim I’d like to thank the entire group for the excellent turnout on parade this year. Every leader, every section member, every standard was well turned out and absolutely the right way to remember our fallen. As a veteran myself it brought a vast sense of pride and emotion to see the group pay no mind to the weather (awful as it was) and parade in their honour.
